Fall Ball Season Specifics

The 2023 Fall Ball program is a non-competitive environment where we focus exclusively on growing each player’s baseball skills. Fall Ball is the perfect developmental program for players who are interested in moving up a division next spring but could use some extra instruction to be ready for the next level of play. We understand that kids often have competing commitments in the fall so our Fall Ball program is designed to be an easy and flexible way to keep your child’s baseball skills sharp while also providing space to play another sport. You really can’t beat Fall Ball’s beautiful weather, relaxed atmosphere, and genuine camaraderie among the kids.  So give Fall Ball a try this fall!

The Fall Ball season runs from September through the end of October. There will be one 90-minute practice per week (and potentially an optional batting practice session), and the practice schedule will be determined once the teams are established. For all divisions other than Farm, games will be played on Sundays against teams from other District 3 leagues. There are no standings, and score is not kept during games. All told, the season will consist of at least 8 practices and 8 games. But please note that there is no pressure to be at all practices and games.

Farm Division: For our youngest ballplayers, the Farm division of Fall Ball is designed for players who intend to play either Entering Farm or Returning Farm in Spring 2023 and have had at least one season of baseball. Like in our older divisions, our Farm division will teach and reinforce solid baseball fundamentals in a fun, non-competitive environment. Depending on enrollment, games will be played against other WMLL teams.  If your player has had at least one season of baseball in any league, come join us for Farm Fall Ball!

Ages for each division are set by the international Little League organization. Here are our recommended placements and fees, based on league age for the 2024 spring season (i.e., age as of August 31, 2024) and previous experience:

  • Farm ($150): 6, 7 and 8 year-olds who have had at least one season of baseball in any league, at any level, and plan to play Farm in the spring.
  • Entering Minors ($180): 8 and 9 year-olds who played Farm or Minors AA and plan to play Minors AA in the spring.
  • Returning Minors ($180): 9 and 10 year-olds who have already played a season of Minors AA and plan to play Minors AA or AAA in the spring.
  • Entering Majors ($180): Strong 10 year-olds who played AAA last season and hope to play Majors in the spring, and all 11 year-olds who played AAA last season.
  • Returning Majors ($180): Players who were in Majors last season and are eligible to play Majors again in the spring.
  • Juniors ($205): 13, 14 and 15 year-olds who plan to play Juniors in the spring for the first time, or played Juniors last season.
