The 2024 Fall Ball program is a non-competitive environment where we focus exclusively on growing each player’s baseball skills. Fall Ball is the perfect developmental program for players who are interested in staying active on the baseball diamond. The program is designed to support players moving up a division next spring. We understand that kids often have competing commitments in the fall so our Fall Ball program is designed to be an easy and flexible way to keep your child’s baseball skills sharp while also providing space to play another sport. You really can’t beat Fall Ball’s beautiful weather, relaxed atmosphere, and genuine camaraderie among the kids.
The 2024 Fall Ball season runs on Sundays from September 8th through November 3rd. Scrimmages for entering minors and older divisions are played against teams from other District 3 little leagues (expect 4 home games and 4 away games at a neighboring league.) There are no standings, and score is not kept during scrimmages. The Farm division has its own practice or scrimmage on Sundays at Central or Warner field, no interleague play.
Teams may offer one optional practice per week, with field schedules setup to minimize conflicts with soccer and other sports. Please note that there is no pressure to be at all practices and games!
For our youngest ballplayers, the Farm division of Fall Ball is designed for players who intend to play either Entering Farm or Returning Farm in Spring 2023 and have had at least one season of baseball. Like in our older divisions, our Farm division will teach and reinforce solid baseball fundamentals in a fun, non-competitive environment.
For our oldest players entering or returning to the Juniors program, the Fall Ball program reinforces the fundamentals of baseball on the full-size field including lead-offs, pick-offs, baserunning and more.
Ages for each division are set by the international Little League organization. Here are our recommended placements based on 2024 league age and previous experience. (See the Little League age calculator here.)
- Farm: 6, 7 and 8 year-olds who have had at least one season of baseball in any league, at any level, and plan to play entering or returning Farm in the spring.
- Entering Minors: 8 and 9 year-olds who played Farm or Minors AA and plan to play Minors AA in the spring.
- Returning Minors: 9 and 10 year-olds who have already played a season of Minors AA and plan to play Minors AA or AAA in the spring.
- Entering Majors: Strong 10 year-olds who played AAA last season and hope to play Majors in the spring, and all 11 year-olds who played AAA last season.
